With the excitement of this summer’s world cup now a distant memory and the barbecue packed away for winter, our thirst for international football can be quenched by the UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers.
The qualifying stages for the 2016 tournament are well underway with 77 matches having been played and 203 goals scored, the next round of games due to take place on the 14-16 November.
A total of 53 teams are playing for a place to join the tournament hosts France with games being played in a new ‘week of football’ format designed to give football fans the opportunity to see more of the matches live. Matches take place from Thursday to Tuesday at times designed to increase television coverage and boost interest.
This is good news if you want to follow the progress of more than one team.
